AP Racing equipped Vette Wins SCCA T1 Regional at Buttonwillow

We're a bit late on posting this one, but we had another C5Z06 score a regional win at Buttonwillow in the T1 class. This was Matt Merril's first time racing the car, which is equipped with the Essex/Hardbar/AP Racing T1 Brake System. Designed specifically to comply with SCCA T1 regulations, this brake system provides a laundry list of benefits for any Corvette racer or track enthusiast. The system was designed with the, "bigger isn't always better" philosophy firmly in mind, and every component in the system was carefully chosen to eliminate weight, improve durability, and keep consumable costs (pads and discs) at a minimum.

Last weekend was my first race in several years and it was great to knock the rust off. My main priority was to shake out my new car and have some fun.

On Saturday I qualified second out of 17 and first in class. I kept the pole sitter in my sights and after a few laps he had some mechanical issues that forced his retirement.

Al (in the black C6) kept me honest and was always within striking distance in second. He started to reel me in but I was able to get past some lapped traffic just before the esses and then bring it home for the win.
