AP Racing Technology Leads the Field in the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona

02.04.2025

The 63rd annual 24 Hours of Daytona race is in the books, and what an event it was! As a leading supplier to professional motorsports, AP Racing provided braking, clutch or other components for three quarters of the field this year, including winners and podium finishers from all four classes. In the GTD and GTD Pro classes, 75% of cars ran AP Racing iron discs and/or front and rear calipers. On the prototype side, over half of GTP teams had AP Racing calipers and the entire LMP2 grid was outfitted with AP Racing carbon discs.

For the second year in a row, Porsche Penske Motorsport brought home the overall race win in the #7 Porsche 963 GTP, while teammates in the #6 entry were close behind on the podium with a 3rd place finish. Both cars leveraged AP Racing brake systems, seen below with Radi-CAL calipers and carbon/carbon 2-piece racing discs. Congratulations Team Penske!

As we outlined in a previous blog post, Porsche's 911 GT3 R race cars also have AP Racing Radi-CAL calipers, along with iron 2-piece floating discs similar to those found in our Competition Brake Kits.

The Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 GT3.Rs of GTD class-winners AWA Racing (above), as well as Trackhouse by TF Sport (below), also ran AP Racing Radi-CAL calipers and 2-piece floating iron discs along with USA-made Forgeline wheels. Congratulations AWA Racing!

Same goes for the #3 Pratt Miller Motorsports Corvette team, which posted a strong 2nd-place finish in the IMSA GTD Pro class.

AP Racing brakes were also found on the BMW M4 GT3 Evos running in GTD and GTD Pro, like this #48 car of Paul Miller Racing.

Essex would like to congratulate all teams on their outstanding efforts in North America's premiere 24-hour endurance race!
